Some important points to consider

Following are some points you must consider after buying a new bike.

1) Bring your own petrol, minimum of 1.5 litre for initial start. You may go to some petrol pump with this quantity.

2) Charge battery at showroom for at least 30 minutes. Showroom guys charge battery for only 5 to 10 minutes. You will need to charge it after some time.

3) Check engine oil gauge, battery, and engine voice once start your bike. In first try check front and rear brakes as well.

4) Check all lights and indicators.

5) Buy minimum of three duster cloths, if possible, bring them with you as showroom guys use dirty cloth for cleaning bike. That put some scratches on body.

6) Don't forget to buy Helmet for you security.

7) Buy some good wax for paint and chrome, "revive all" is good option for seat cover and tyres.

8) Don't wash you bike too early, instead of washing clean it on daily basis with just wet cloth.

9) Run your bike at 40 to 45 km/h till first tunning(1000 km).

10) Change engine oil after first 500 km.

11) Clean air filter as well at the same time.

12) Clean bike chain after 300 to 500, use old tooth brush to remove dust from chain.

13) Don't trust mechanics, they are not trustworthy. Always get maintenance work in front of your eyes.

14) To safe you mud gaurds from rust, remove them from your bike and fill silicon paste in side spaces and paste silver tape(available at refrigeration shops) underneath. Don't use so called compound from market. Compound makes mud gaurds rough, ugly looking and black.

15) Always cover your bike at parking/home with parachute cover. It prevents your bike from dust and rain.

Fuel Efficiency

  1. Avoid long and unnecessary engine idling.
  2. It is better to switch off the engine at stops of over 2 minutes and start again when required.
  3. Keep tire pressure as (Recommended on the sticker pasted on chain case), as a 25% decrease in tire pressure can cost you 5~10 % more on petrol and 25% on tire life.
  4. Ride at normal speed. The faster you go, the more wind resistance your motorcycle will face, resulting more fuel consumption.
  5. Do not rest your foot on the brake pedal. This causes overheating and poor fuel economy.
  6. Always drive in the correct gear, incorrect gear shifting can lead to as much as 20% increase in fuel consumption.A dirty Air cleaner, out of adjustment carburetor, dirty Spark plugs, dirty engine oil, etc. all contribute to poor fuel economy. Therefore, replace or clean them as per requirement

Daily Care

  1. Check gauge and meter functioning.
  2. Check lighting operation.
  3. Check horn and turn signal operation.
  4. Check fuel level in fuel tank.
  5. Check rear view mirror condition.
  6. Check tire (air pressure, wear and damage)
  7. Check oil leakage.
  8. Check battery water level.
  9. Check braking system for its effective working.
  10. Check smooth clutch operation and adjust if required.

Safety Tips

  1. Use Helmet to protects from head injury in a collision situation or a fall. Always ensure that helmet             strap is properly locked.
  2. Use Goggles to protect your eyes from rain, dirt etc.
  3. Use Gloves to protect your hands and knuckles from damage.
  4. Wear Shoes to protect your feet.
  5. Ride safely at all times to avoid injury to others road users or damage to properties.
  6. Riding on wet roads or rainy day requires extra caution.
  7. Braking distance should be double in a rainy day, remember it.
  8. Observe and comply with all traffic rules.
  9. Never attend your cell phone while riding.
  10. Always apply both brakes for effective stoppage of motorcycle.
  11. Always ride at the left lane and leave the right lane for faster vehicles.
  12. Always use turn signals much before taking a turn.
  13. Riding is transportation not competition. Want to compete? Find a race track.

General Tips

  1. Avoid accelerating or decelerating unnecessarily
  2. Once the engine is running smoothly, begin driving with slow & smooth acceleration.
  3. Avoid jerky starts and unnecessary sudden acceleration or braking
  4. Get into high gear as soon as possible.
  5. Keep the bottom of your motorcycle free from mud, it lessens weight for fuel economy & also helps to prevent corrosion.
  6. Keep your motorcycle tuned-up and in top shape
  7. Always maintain your motorcycle as per schedule through Suzuki authorized Showroom / dealer for better performance and lower operating cost.
  8. Use only Suzuki genuine parts for safety and longer life of parts

Definitions
Four-Stroke
A four-stroke engine (also known as four-cycle) is an internal combustion engine in which the piston completes four separate strokes—intake, compression, power, and exhaust—during two separate revolutions of the engine'scrankshaft, and one single thermodynamic cycle. For more:

 Air-Cooled
Most modern internal combustion engines are cooled by a closed circuit carrying liquid coolant through channels in the engine block and cylinder head, where the coolant absorbs heat, to a heat exchanger or radiator where the coolant releases heat into the air. Thus, while they are ultimately cooled by air, because of the liquid-coolant circuit they are known as water-cooled. In contrast, heat generated by an air-cooled engine is released directly into the air. Typically this is facilitated with metal fins covering the outside of the cylinders which increase the surface area that air can act on.In all combustion engines, a great percentage of the heat generated (around 44%) escapes through the exhaust, not through either a liquid cooling system nor through the metal fins of an air-cooled engine (12%). About 8% of the heat energy finds its way into the oil, which although primarily meant for lubrication, also plays a role in heat dissipation via a cooler. For more:

Air-cooled engines have fins extending out from the engine to pull heat away. Cool air is then forced over the fins -- typically by a fan in cars. For aircraft and motorcycles, the vehicle's speed alone moves enough cool air over the fins to keep the engine cool. Some air-cooled engines may also have ducts around the engine to keep air flowing to the hottest areas. Some aircraft engines may even have baffling systems that channel high-pressure air into the cooling fins. For more

Bore
Bore is the diameter measurement of the cylinders in a piston engine.  Bore is the diameter of the cylinder, which means that engine displacement is dependent on both the bore and the stroke of the cylinder.

Stroke
In a steam locomotive, steam, Otto or Diesel piston engine, a stroke is the action of a piston travelling the full length of its locomotive cylinder or engine cylinder in one direction.
The stroke length is determined by the cranks on the crankshaft. Stroke can also refer to the distance the piston travels. Bore is the diameter of the cylinder, which means that engine displacement is dependent on both the bore and the stroke of the cylinder. Fore more
