Yesterday when i go to mechanic at Suzuki service center, mechanic suggest me to change oil filter as well. I was ok with his advice. He also asked to get 1400ml engine oil as more oil is required with oil filter change. That is where he was wrong. We need to have 1200ml engine oil to change. There is a simple tip to remember that you need as much as that engine oil gauge not show more than higher level. It is also advised by owner manual.
Your input is valuable.
ReplyDeleteI need to buy a bike. The options I have is GS-150, CG-125 and as a last resort CD-70 / Raider.
Having gone through the comments on net, I got confused. Honda is typical since the last 30 years with a high resale. Ride is tough. I do not need to race. Just be mobile in city as a replacement for car with good average and comfort. Long term basis with easy maintenance.
Talking to GS-150 users, they gave a positive feedback. Still I am confused as it will be one time purchase and no experiments. Do or die situation. If I make a wrong decision, I lose 50% in a short time.
Thank you.
Dear Riaz,
ReplyDeleteI have been using Suzuki since many years now, Shogun 2-Stroke (98-2000), Sprinter (since 2005-2013) & GS 150 (2014).
You are correct about the devaluation, you loose a lot of money on them. But, While you have them, they are pretty awesome. GS150 is best amongst the whole lot no doubt.
- It has less vibration than the CG-125
- It has more comfortable seat & comfortable ride (shocks etc.)
- Enough power to merge in traffic in our cities
- A very good economy e.g. it gives 43/44 km per litre (and that too when you consider that I weigh over 100 kilo's).
All of the above make it a great bike to have, especially when compared to CG-125 or CD-70.
If you plan to keep it for say 2 to 3 years, you should go for it. But if in near future you plan or foresee a sale, than you shouldn't.
All in all it is a good bike, but bad investment.
And looks.... I bought 2014 in Blue, and not a single day passes when somebody asks me about the bike e.g. kahan say lee, kitnay ki hai, Japani hai ? :)
Salam .. mein nai abhi gs 150 2014 lya hai abhi tak 300 km chalaya hai..ye bata saktay hein icka oil aur tunning kab karwao tq ?

ReplyDeleteBrother correction needed, 850ml without filter change and with filter 1000ml and please use 10w40 with new engines and if your bike is old like 2006 or 2007 then you can use 20w50, i use Liqui Moly its the best i have found so far.

AOA, Nooni I have got this 2015 model couple of months back, i need suggestion regarding the engine oil thing. Currently using ZIC 10w40 and my ride's engine started sounding weird .. it started with some ajeeb halki halki sound now apparently there are two three sounds coming from the engine although i went for couple of oil change under 1000km but it was better when i bought this :( ..
ReplyDeletewhat to do now?
Would liquimoly drag me out of this misery ?
as it is expensive i wont be able to afford it if it requires the same two oil change under 1000km ... ?
